March 21, 2017

At the beginning of the year, Canam-Bridges won a contract to manufacture 570 tons of steel components for the construction of a new bridge for the North Commuter Parkway and Traffic Bridge Replacement Project in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Canam is currently manufacturing at its Quebec City plant in Quebec 12 steel girders that will become part of the North Commuter Parkway Bridge over the South Saskatchewan River in the spring of 2017. Since fabrication started only this past February and the components are scheduled to be completed by the end of March, the timetable has been very short. The bridge will be completed and opened to traffic in October 2018.

Canam-Bridges also supplied 61 Goodco Z-Tech pot bearings for this project: 45 for the North Commuter Parkway Bridge and 16 for the Traffic Bridge replacement.
