The Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) will hold its annual conference in London, Ontario, June 1-4, 2016. During this event, Canam-Bridges’ junior engineer, Maxime Ampleman, will give a presentation entitled The Effect of Relaxation on the Slip Resistance of Metallized Faying Surfaces in Slip-Critical Connections.
The presentation will focus on the evaluation of the relaxation in slip-critical bolted connections used with metallized faying surfaces. The effect of the relaxation on the slip resistance of metallized connections is also investigated. Results indicated that the slip resistance after relaxation of metallized assemblies is greater than the slip load associated with the Class B slip performance of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (2014).
Founded in 1887 by eminent Canadian civil engineers, the CSCE is a learned society created to develop and maintain high standards of civil engineering practice in Canada and to enhance the public image of the civil engineering profession.
