Canam Group’s Quebec City plant will soon start working on 69 tons of steel components for the replacement of the Kingston Mills swing bridge in Ontario.

The 85-foot-long (26 meters) single-span bridge stretches over part of the Colonel By Lake and the sluice portion of the Saint Lawrence River. A tight schedule will enable its reopening in May, 2017, in time for the sluice to be used during the summer.

Canam-Bridges will make the design of the orthotropic steel deck, the fabrication of the deck structure and the complete erection as well as supplying Goodco Z-Tech bearings for this bridge reminiscent of the Hastings swing bridge on which Canam-Bridges has worked.
